Are escooter laws strict enough?

Getting hit at 25km/hr is like your secondary school 100m sprint champion running into you at full speed....hard to imagine that there will be no serious injury.

So how did 25km/hr come about this is speed limit set in Europe and various countries....we copied it.

HK forbid all PMD so long as they are not completely human powered like bicycles.
.Bicycles have been around for long tIme sharing walkways but we rarely hear of peoplegetting seriously injured when cyclist run into them....the reason is when you are peddling a bicycle with your own legs you are very aware of the speed. However, on a PMD users just accelerate to max speed with ease.

The othe countries where escooter I s allowed have dedicated lanes and wide pedestrian walkways....this lowers risk of accidents.

However in Singapore these e-scooters share narrow lanes with pedestrains. The risk of accident is much higher.
.
I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I will do my utmost to keep them alive.
Against tyrants and adversity, I will strive.
Together, a better future, we will realise......

The current regulations specify:
- For cycling paths, the max speed is 25 kmh. This is too fast.
- For footpaths, the max speed is 15 kmh. I feel this is too fast. It's like someone running at a fast stride. If there is a collision, it can still cause injury.

Let's all propose to LTA and the Active Mobility Advisory Panel to have the speed limit for all PMDs, bicycles, etc on cycling paths and shared footpaths to be set at 10 kmh.

Just ban those shxts on pedestrian foot path. No sharing shud be allowed at whatever speed except for handicap personnel on wheelchairs or PMDs.

Bicycles and escooters can go share main road and PIE and ECP with cars and lorries and they can travel at 100 kmh if they wish.to die faster...... Laughing

Many are in favour of complete ban in Singapore.
Why government still in denial mode and refuses to impose it?

If ban, they will lost the " revenue on fine" and also lost the value to be regulator ..

If don't ban, they can make money and boot up their ego thru rule.

The govt system is not able to solve problem due to money mindset.

It is a power game use to fool ppl belief.

Thru game play, it give an image the govt system still relevant in today on "mature citizen mindset".

Problem creation

Cat and mouse Game

1st, they allow scooter to import thru licence scheme.

Thereafter, they use state media to accelerate the accident event.

Then the enforcement come into picture for monetary gain on order given by their minister who in charge.

This will add pain to citizen hardship to live under their govt rule.

Same thing all over gain from COE creation for transport .

This is why SG govt so rich and Malaysia govt so poor , on elite system to capitalize on citizen money (Rule) to make a living for elite welfare.

On 2 party beliefs to form a govt system, it breed many greedy ppl in politic.

Human development

The govt system is on part time job. This has make oppie emotional imbalance to fight for goal to add pain to citizen hardship..
