It depends...if single owner very easy to decide.

For owners especially elderly with family members may have problems what type of new home to buy or share the money. Worried

These old HUDC are really big and spacious. Really wasted to give it up imo.

94% of residents of Braddell View have voted for en bloc! Collective Sales committee has been formed to look for potential bidders; Chairman said because of the size, more than one million square feet, only the biggest Developers like City Development and CapitaLand will be invited to bid.

Words is a bit sensitive at the moment, will post more as we move along. But in the meantime, just hedge on CapitaLand. Trust me, it WILL be a good bet.

The enbloc sales is depending on resident vote thru sole managing agent.

It could lead to the " abuse" thru manipulation of result. (extreme development)

On 70% agreed on enblock...

This is how it work. You have no choice under govt polices .

1st they have created a managing agent ( appointed agent) in your estate ( by law) to represent the resident decision and this has created a bad fate for resident.

Extreme Development (Abuse)

It is a system created for abuse thru govt rule .

If the developer eyeing on a particulate estate . They can make use the managing agent to created a voting system for enbloc. The election of enblock could be manipulate by managing agent to give way for development interest. The resident has no say on enbloc sale that depending on managing agent voting result.

It make no sense to give out the bigger unit in HUDC. Buy a small unit with expensive property price . To take up a new loan for property at old age.. .

Quote:The residents of the biggest HUDC estate here plan to hold an extraordinary general meeting on 10 October to form a collective sale committee in a bid to sell the entire property for a minimum price of $2 billion, reported the Straits Times.

The 918-unit Braddell View has 63 years left on its 99-year lease, and it was the last to be privatised among Singapore’s 18 HUDC estates in March 2017.

Heard that the residents vote for enbloc only, but it will final go through only if the price is good. My friend is expected at least $3 million .. so, if it is just 2.1 million, the deal will fall through.
