Recently I walked pass a booth, NTUC Learning Hub
I walked over and browsed through their brochures
There are many courses offer.
But one part of the section caught my eye is this :

Net invetment for training after WDA funding.
> 21 yr old and > 40 yr old with reduced course fees.
Something like SkillsFuture Subsidies & UTAP/WTS funding available.

I understand that each of us has $500 annually to take up such courses?

Anyone take up such courses and is there any help to your career or planning for career switch?

Once you use $500 this yeAr, you can use another $500 next year.

But most of the courses are very LOUsY. I was at Tampines Central and Chinese Chambers was recommending a stupid Diploma course that does not need exam. After looking at the brochure, they were targeting bus drivers and waitress for People Management Diploma.

FWs are NOT FTs. Time for PAP to reduce 5% FTs that is overdue for 10 years.

The course is very important lar, first u must understand who is the owner of such course center. So very important for them as this is big biz for them.

Quote:I applaud the Government for initiating the SkillsFuture Credit scheme. I applied for a professional diploma course in November and have successfully claimed my $500 credit.

I had presumed that I would get another $500 in my SkillsFuture account this year. However, I was wrong.

Quote:SkillsFuture Credit

The SkillsFuture Credit is meant to strengthen individual ownership of skills development and lifelong learning. Beneficiaries include all Singaporeans aged 25 and above in 2016, as well as subsequent cohorts of Singaporeans who turn 25 in future years. Singaporeans will get $500 in credit that can be used for work skills-related courses. It will not expire and there will be a periodic top-up from the Government.

When is the next top up??
