Gov should have said rejected outright and don't make a mockery of Singapore.

Airbnb is very popular worldwide and alot of locals uses Airbnb when they travel aboard.

When I uses Airbnb in Korea, Australia and Japan, we were concern about our RATING and won't do anything that is of disturbance or forbidden by the host. That, in itself, is good enough for short term stay, whether in HDB or private housing.

It is a typical case of the top management wants to implement but the rank and file give out rules to obstruct it.

PM Lee acknowledges Singapore's tourism numbers benefited from it. National Development Minister working to allow it. Eunuchs stop it with impossible rules.

Then, gov should say outright REJECTED and ILLEGAL.

Don't need consultation paper and waste time and manpower and even Select Committee.

the main thing would be that the rule may eventually explicitly state it that if the guests involve in illegal activities which may include prostitution or become a nusiance to the neighbors, the owner will be proscuted
would the owner still take that risk?

Even existing owners quarrels and create nuisance among themselves. Recently, a report about a lower and upper floor having serious disagreement.

These things will happen with or without short term stay, medium term stay and is make worst with long term stay where they had to live next to each other. Remember Joo Chiat saga?

With short term stay, one group of guests may be problematic but because of it short tenor, the problem should go away after guests leave. With long term rental, tough luck to the neighbour.

seem like the message is too cryptic, so just go straight to the point
would that new ura rule eventually be called
air b&b chicken coop rule?
creating entire blocks full of prostitutes run as brothels
maybe ura would gostan & redo the rule again
