The Russian ejection system is foolproof. Ejecting from a ballistic 3 stage space launch rocket is not the same as ejecting from F16 hor.

Not sure if it is really foolproof, but to detach and land safely after gaining tremendous speed (2 mins after launch) is definitely impressive. Wonder how the small capsule managed to do atmospheric braking then.

Russian ejection system is known to be superior than the american ones. The Americans developed theirs from the germans who, like rocket scientist Von Braun, were carted off to america as war booties when the Nazis lost ww2. But the Russians had their homegrown ejection seat designers eversince. The seats they designed performed superbly as witnessed in the low flights aerobatic mishaps at the Paris airshow when the Migs collided midway. They are designed for survivability in high speed low altitude aircraft failures when engines stall. But this Soyuz mishap confirms Russian technological superiority in space travel.
