Are you new to the company. And if No, able to tell what Operating Systems & Software ware they using?

1. Identify them.
2. Take online course to learn & familiarize them.
3. Find ways to remember them and their solutions.

Hardware
----------
1. What it does and how it operates.
2. Same as above 2.)
3. Same as above 3.)

Remember, always smile & be courteous and control your emotion when face with demanding people.
Always ask what are they trying to accomplish before you make any attempt.
When don't know, tell them you need to call someone for more info. and quickly get help.
Don't forget to do follow-ups.

I overheard my colleague telling another if you have no knowledge, you cannot become one.

Help desk only take phone call and route issues to right team if they cannot solve simple issue. To solve simple issues they can pull the solution from a knowledge database.
It’s just one big farking world for one human kind.
