simi lj?
He, being poor, has only his lies
He will do his utmost to cover his lies
Against PAP and PM Lee, he will spread lies
Alone, a bleak future, he will realise......

I understand that Jac is...or was...an engineer.

If you see when he lost his job, he...like many many Singaporeans at that time...lost his job to the tiongs. Jac did not lose his job to CECA or FTs who are here. He lost his job when the company left for China when China opened up and sucked away a lot of our FDIs. Those tiongs did not even have to come here to work as FT...

He's now close to 60. Dun say CECA...anybody who is in his 30s or 40s would have an advantage over him. Age discrimination is very real....

I had a choice to do medicine, architecture, engineering...anything I wanted.

I did not like being stuck in one place like a hospital. Since young, I liked to run around. Architecture..I told myself, Singapore no land. Not much prospects and it would be extremely hard to go global competing with architects around the world for jobs in various countries. Engineering seemed like it was booming but we didn't know that China would open up. It seemed instead that China would remain socialist, communist and poor.

Very early on, I decided that I would not specialise. So I went into management, then upper management, and got all the specialists to do the work. Engineers, accountants, IT specialists, HR practitioners, procurement, logistics, all of them. I used my mouth to direct them... thumbs up
