Trump says date and place for North Korea meeting are set - CNBC.com

https://www.cnbc.com/.../trump-says-date...ng-are-set....

Trump said this week that the demilitarized zone, or DMZ, between North and South Korea would be an excellent venue for the planned summit, but that Singapore was also a possible site. The Peace talk is likely to be held in the third week of June.

Trump has tone down his rhetoric on "little Rocket Man" and discussion on troop reduction is on the table.
Is this a fakes news.....Gullible Trump finally finds out Kim Jong Un isn’t ‘honorable’.

U-turn: South Korean newspaper says May 5, 2018.

Kim-Trump summit ‘likely’ happening in S’pore according to S.Korean daily Chosun Ilbo.

The article, citing Washington sources, reported that Singapore is deemed the “likely” country to host the historic meeting.

However, it also noted that given Trump’s penchant for dramatic effect, it is still possible that he would choose Panmunjom in the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) at the last minute.
IS THIS REAL OR FAKES???. Confused Kim Pui Pui Style.

The latest warning, delivered by former North Korean nuclear negotiator Kim Gye Gwan on Wednesday, fits Pyongyang’s well-established pattern of raising the stakes in negotiations by threatening to walk out if it doesn’t get its way.

This comes just hours after the North Korean regime cast doubt on the planned summit by protesting joint air force drills taking place in South Korea, saying they were ruining the diplomatic mood.

Most critically, the North Korean negotiator cast doubt on the notion Pyongyang would “unilaterally” give up its nukes simply to gain economic benefits, which has been the premise of the administration’s  summit plans. … At the same time as threatening to scuttle the summit with Trump, North Korea canceled talks with South Korean officials that had been scheduled for Wednesday, less than 24 hours after agreeing to them

Brookings Institution’s Michael O’Hanlon observes. They seemed surreal.”

There are a couple of ways to read this shift in tone.

“Either Kim is now nervous about the whole détente process, given the clear U.S. goals, and wants to shut it down entirely, in which case the summit may not happen at all,” says O’Hanlon.

“Or, more likely, Kim is beginning the bargaining process in earnest, since Trump administration was misinterpreting what he really meant and really was offering with all his talk of peace and denuclearization.

It’s not going to be that easy, or unilateral on his part, and for North Korea leader. Most of us didn’t think it would be.”

U.S. top commanders warn. “We’re on the two-yard line,” U.S. special forces commander told NBC News. “We’re that close and now it’s coming apart.”

KOBANI, Syria — The secret military base here is the epicenter of a 4-yr-old U.S.-led war against Islamic State that American commanders say has succeeded in killing nearly 65,000 fighters.

Some U.S. commanders say what they perceive as a lack of guidance from White House — which sent Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster packing in a 9-day span — is now threatening their mission to destroy ISIS. Cracks are showing in America's alliance with the Kurds of northern Syria, who question whether they can rely on the U.S. or abandon by President Trump.

"We’re close to wiping out ISIS caliphate in Syria.”

A Japanese newspaper has raised the possibility of Chinese President Xi Jinping also travelling to Singapore when US President Donald Trump meets North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for an unprecedented summit on June 12.

The Mainichi Shimbun's Washington-based correspondent cited American diplomatic sources as saying there was a chance that Mr Xi may meet Mr Trump and Mr Kim in Singapore.

In the report published on Friday, the Mainichi quoted a senior international negotiator with the National Security Council as telling reporters that "there is a possibility" the leader of a third country may take part.
