I am shocked how some of SG talk members can be so naive about the intentions of dictator Xi in pushing this new law without the consent/vote of the HK people. Even the 2 million people who demonstrated had no bearing on China’s dictatorial leaders considerations. Now they want to impose their will on HK people with impugned arrogance and force.

FMs from several countries have come out to speak against the Chinese leaders. It seems that a confrontation of some sorts will happen. Asia/ASEAN for decades have progressed because of political stability and mutual respect for each other‘S way of life.

The stupid Xi now has fuelled the fire to destroy this region

Ask yourself - if he gets away with this in HK, what else would he not do? Then comes Taipei , Sin ? You want to live under communist law, really ?

Think some here are having too good a time living under current garmen and there is nothing wrong with that. I too am living a good life but CCP is a totally different institution. They are bullying small and economically weak nations/countries into their will. Sin had her share of grievances but still have to kowtow to them for their economic clout. Sigh.. Why do you think even their wealthy Chinese want to leave their country so badly ?

tolong, do not be clueless lah.
Spore not part Chn. Neither do they claim Spore part of their territory.

Anyway no country do have national security law,
us0.a PATRIOT act also do not seek ppl for approval.

It is not our matter really, we just see if some funds coming here.
South East Asia countries cannot be bother, only see HK got riot news or not.

Is it possible for HK to be in One Country One System?
If so, what is the future of HK?

The future of HK is no different from before 1997...got it?

Before 1997, HK self govern in many aspect.
Hkies operated the police force, legal department, social enterprise, finance industry, infrastructure industry, education department, etc....
Almost all aspects of HK society affairs were ruled and operated by hkies themselves but must report to a English head of department.
The British government represented the underlying governance of HK.

It will be similar to China being the underlying governance of HK once they pass the Security Law onto HK.
There will be a Governing body representing CCP in HK whereby the HK govt must report to..... Big Grin

for china it is not about destroy hk, but the lesser of the evil.
if hk continue to have unlawful riots most well to do will leave the place.
after the proposed law, lawful protest will still continue, less the petrol bomb, disruption of service. many identified
riots leader if identified will face more enforcement if law implemented retrospectively.
probably lost the most preferred status with some country, that is calculated price for peace, law and order to be restored.
since one cannot do openly, underground activities may start.
the stock market after the initial down will up in hope of returning listing of Chinese companies from oversea.

Good input, but the majority of Hong Kongers don't like idea of being under the sole government of China, they tend to not enjoy the freedom they are used to under the British rule.... Crying Crying Thinking Thinking

Do they have a choice?
Before 1997?
Before 1997, they were fighting for more autonomy power with the English Head too... Big Grin

After 1997, they were fighting for more autonomy power with the CCP too.. 245

Don't mix autonomy power with freedom.
It is the self rule power that they wanted all along.....
"FREEDOM" is just a word to blur the true intentions... Big Grin

How come nobody talk about HK future? Only got WHY?
What do you see in the future of HK?

HK will have no future if things continue the way it is. People riot on the pretense of protest. Those rioters get away with destroying public properties and disrupting civilian lives. Who would want to continue to invest and live in this kind of environment? Peace must be returned to HK for her to have a future.
