Pay cut is better than retrenched. The aviation industry will gradually rebound. Vaccine is coming...hopefully by Q1 of next year.

What's not in the article is that the SIA's contract staff's contracts are/were not renewed and they have lost their jobs.

Like his colleagues, my relative's contract was not renewed by SIA last month and now he's at home experiencing "early retirement".
