Singapore's long winter is coming....
#1
For years leaders ignored structural issues with the economy and went for quick fixes such as 1. Importing foreigners 2. Build casinos 3. Finamcial sector deregulation gains.

Where is long term engine of growth and singapore is left with a host of issues including poor performing govt linked companies like SPH, SingTel and SIA..
They are big and inefficient like dinosaurs but they took a chunk of our economy. We dont see home grown champions. Ironically the 2 companies creating jobs for Singaporeans are Grab and Gojek both companies from neighboring countries we often look down on.
You know how many thousands of Singaporeans depend on these companies for making a living??....How many new jobs did SingTel or SIA add to the economy? We are happy if they dont retrench.

We will start to see non oil exports plunge as we start searching for answers to fix the economy
I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I will do my utmost to keep them alive.
Against tyrants and adversity, I will strive.
Together, a better future, we will realise......

Difficult to transform the economy because the people still have the old mindset , refuse to upgrade themselves , the bosses, especially the SME are to blame, they give so many excuses . At the end , Singapore economy suffer..

MNC no problem , they have strong leadership and commitment to invest in new technology , but the biggest employer is the SMEs ..

The SME is no hunger enough to compete , they want business but reluctance to invest in technology and skill upgrading ..
