Trump Lies Again About ‘China Paying Tariffs’
#1
President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to raise tariffs even higher on some Chinese products as he repeated the lie that China pays tariffs directly to the U.S. Treasury.

He claimed the “payments” have led to the improvement in the U.S. economy.

In fact, American consumers absorb the cost of tariffs on imported Chinese goods by paying higher prices for the products. The added costs are essentially a regressive tax on consumers because they’re not linked to income levels.

A University of Chicago study found that consumers paid an extra $1.5 billion for washing machines last year because of a Trump tariff imposed at the behest of Whirpool Corp. that only added $82 million to U.S. coffers. That was because manufacturers got away with charging more for dryers along with washing machines, even though no tariffs were added to the cost of dryers.

What does the cost of washing machine and dryer tells us about Trump's Tariff on average Americans.

these are import duty...just tax accordingly....then china good & products are not competitive, too expensive....all will avoid to buy china good or importers will stop import from china if low demand....
at the same time....many factories & foreign companies already started to move out of china, not only US companies moving out, Japan, taiwan, korea, Europe companies all move out of china........china will lose tons of jobs, tons of jobless in china.....china trade down, import/export down, GDP down.....or they will depreciate RMB to make china good slightly 'cheaper'...very nice....RMB, china stock, HSI, HKD & many more.....how? dive down? have not started 25%, SSE down almost 10% in last few days....RMB also plunges down.....
such commonsense, what to shout?...... Rolling on the flor laughing thumbs up
