She did nothing wrong, however these protesters in HK don't trust her as she was not elected by them. During British rule all the governors and high ranking officials were also appointed by the Queen, HKers had no say, why didn't they protest?

Wow, you have asked the right question. Yet many here failed to see that, but choose to see that the Chinese is the evil one. When the Chinese has yet to carry out any measure against the protestors in HongKong...

Learn from Thailand. If the people love protesting, just give them military government. Now Thailand is so peaceful.

Lam should go to Yau Ma Tei where 40000 napalese continue to stay in Hongkong. There she can get former Gurkhas to help.

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam fights back tears as she warns protesters they are pushing city ‘into an abyss’
https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/poli...-she-warns

Lam also declined to say if Beijing had been stopping her from meeting protesters’ demands, such as fully withdrawing the now-shelved extradition bill, and appointing a judge-led commission to look into the whole controversy.

Lawmaker Claudia Mo Man-ching, convenor of the pro-democracy camp, said Lam’s reluctance to answer the question was tantamount to confirming Beijing was running the city.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice."

Some one place a very big put position to down HK.
As singlion have said Xi did not take the bait.
Trump think some some ci ai a members want to sabo his trade deals therefore
not keen to help ci ai a.
This make the plan longer than expected.
Also modern media availability have make it difficult for either sides.
Land of opportunities and spies is now a battleground.

Frankly President Xi may be taking his times in exercising his power, I just hope that he continues not to fall into the traps set by the westerners...

Those here who continues to paint a negative views on China will then sees that the problems are merely caused by the non-other then the HongKong rioters only. Well at least the locals in HongKong who didn’t support these rioters already sees that.
